Columbia University School of the Arts

The Situation
As the Arts school of Columbia University, SOA came to us with the ask to elevate their social presence so that they could stand as a separate page from Columbia Central. Same school, but different platform. Different voice. Separate news and updates. They wanted to speak to multiple different audiences: current students, alumni, faculty, and potential future students - how could they connect with all their target audience members within a few designated social platforms?

The Solution
We built a cohesive strategy for content and community engagement to ensure all of Columbia’s community members felt involved, seen and heard. The strategy resulted in an earned TikTok engagement rate 2.05% better than benchmark average and an Instagram engagement rate 5.14x better than industry average.

With Instagram being the primary platform of focus, we grew the account 2.91x faster than the industry average for follower growth rate (helping them break the 10K wall in a matter of months!), and created their highest viewed Reel of all time. Most importantly, we’ve fostered a community that genuinely loves engaging with the content and tagging us in their posts.

The success carried over to LinkedIn where our goal was to generate real action. We earned a click-thru rate 3.14x better than industry average, driving audience members to get off the social platform and head to the website.
